Prescriptive Pest Management
Using real-time data from soil health to water levels, coupled with a vast collection of historical and relational data, the technology can direct the farmer to the healthiest portion of the farmland which the lowest possibility of pest, disease or weed infestation as well as provide suggestions on how to space crop, optimal planting time, what types of pesticides to use, how much, how often to deploy, how often monitoring is required, among other prescriptive actions to mitigate the possibility of outbreaks and effects of pests, disease and weeds.
Predictive Pest Management
The system uses a neural network to find patterns and relationships between variables that are believed to cause pest and disease infestation in crop. The goal is that a farmer using Farmi’s system will be alerted to issues before they arise so that losses due to pest and disease are minimized. Farmi has established that for some crop and some variables, its predictions are highly accurate and can save farmers tens of thousands of dollars per year. The more data on the farmland is collected and over a greater period of time, the more accurate the predictions are.
